Re: payroll tax e-filing its telling me that the underlying connection was closed and wont let me...

Let's get this fixed, af321.

It's possible that your .NET framework version does not support TLSv 1.2. That is why you're unable to pay your Federal taxes.

TLS1.2 is an internet security protocol used by QuickBooks Desktop to access Intuit services. Make sure that the QuickBooks Desktop version you're using is updated.

Let's run the TLS1.2 Readiness tool to meet all Windows Operating System, Internet Explorer and .NET requirements. Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Run the TLS1.2 Readiness Tool.
  3. Re-open QuickBooks and try to e-pay.

If you're still getting the error, follow the steps below:

  1. Restart the computer.
  2. Right-click the QuickBooks icon, and select Run as Admin.
  3. Get updates when prompted.
  4. Perform the Run reboot.bat.
  5. Repair QuikBooks.

Now, sign back in and e-pay the Federal taxes once more.
