payroll taxes

Intuit continues to file $0 quarterly tax reports to states I do not have employees in.  I have contacted them several times and was told to check that the Payroll Item for the tax is inactive (they are) and the Employee is Inactive (they are.)  They are filing in four states that I have not had employees in for several years.  I tried calling in and today I tried chat, I was not given a solution except to make Payroll Items and Employees inactive and that was previously done, but Intuit continues tofile $0 taxes.  How can I get them to stop filing $0 reports?

Re: payroll taxes

Thanks for reaching out to us here in the Community, @NJComprise.

The program is compliant with the state tax regulations. Some states require you to file zero filing, which means even if you don't owe taxes, you may still have to submit a return. I suggest reaching out to your state agency to confirm this with them.

To help you stay updated with the state e-file and payment requirements, you can go through this link: Payroll Tax Compliance. Then, choose your state under the State compliance section.

I’m adding this helpful article for more details about filing your quarterly tax forms in the future:
