printing 1099-nec

QB Desktop Premier Plus 2022 - updated to get 3 part printing - now it will not print 1099-nec at all.  Doesn't even to Print to pdf - no data sent.

 

prints 1096-nec without issue

 

Any one have fix for this? Already repaired qbinstall

update - spt had me reset updates & run them again.  Now 1099-nec is hard coded to state tax & won't let me change.

I want to ensure you'll be able to print your 1099 form in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) smoothly, @colacommollc.

 

We can perform the following troubleshooting steps to isolate your printing concern. Before that, ensure that your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) is updated to the latest release so you always have the latest components and fixes.

 

Then, let's proceed with running QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool. Here's how:

  1. Close your QBDT program. 
  2. Then, download and install the most recent version of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  3. Once finished installing, open the tool hub and select Program Problems.
  4. Next, click QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool. Wait until the process is completed.
  5. When done, attempt to print your 1099 NEC again. 

 

If the same thing happens, let's move on to the next solution which is to reset your temp folder permissions. See the following steps:

  1. Press the Windows key + R to open the RUN command.
  2. Next, type %TEMP% and press Enter.
  3. Then, right-click an empty area of the temp folder, and choose Properties.
  4. Click the Security tab.
  5. Make sure all user names and groups showing on the Security tab have Full Control.
  6. Save as a PDF again within QuickBooks, once the permissions have been set to Full Control.
  7. Once done, perform a test print to confirm you can print to your XPS.

You'll want to pull up 1099 reports in QBDT to get a handy copy of your 1099 information as well as to review further the details. To do so, you can either run the 1099 Summary or 1099 Detail report

save to pdf works.  wish I could get to print without saving to pdf 1st

and I had to uninstall & re-install standard setup from intuit just to get that far

I am having the same problem. I got the form to 3 on a page and now it will not print

Let me add some additional steps to help you print the 3 part form for 1099 NEC.

 

If you haven't tried resetting the update, here's how to do it:

 

  1. Go to the Help > Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Select the Update Now tab. Tip: You MUST select the Reset Update checkbox to clear all previous update downloads.
  3. Select Get Updates to start the download.

When the download finishes, please exit QuickBooks and restart your computer. Open your QuickBooks program and when you get a prompt, accept the option to install the new release. 

 

Once done, try to print your 1099 form again by following these steps:

 

  1. Create your 1099s in QuickBooks.
  2. In the Choose a filing method window, select the Print 1099-NEC or Print 1099-MISC button.
  3. Specify the date range for the forms then choose OK.
  4. Select all vendors you wish to print 1099s for.
  5. Click the Print 1099 button. 
  6. Confirm your printer settings then hit Print.
