Questions on Quarterly Tax Filings

Is there a way to automate quarterly tax filings using QuickBooks Online for 1 person C Corp?

So, my boss has QuickBooks Accountant "Firm" account has client, he want to know QuickBooks can file on behalf of the clients?

As per research, only QuickBooks Self Employed has this functionality? Is there any work around if the client is not subscribed to Self Employed account?

Also, can a Self Employed account be under an QuickBooks Accountant "Firm" account?

Thank you

Questions on Quarterly Tax Filings

Hi there, @usermramirez.

Thank you for raising your concerns here with us on the Community page. I can share with you some information about tax filings and managing clients in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

Yes, the system sends payroll taxes and forms automatically with the Full-Service versions of payroll to ensure taxes are processed on time. For the Enhanced versions, the business owner's need to submit their taxes. To learn more about which taxes and forms Intuit handles for your business, you can check out this link: Tax payments and forms Intuit payroll submits for you.

On the other hand, yes, you can give an accountant access to your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) company file and accounting information by inviting one from the gear icon.

  1. Sign in to your QBSE account, then go to the profile or gear icon.
  2. Select the Accountant tab.
  3. In the Invite your accountant field, enter your accountant's email address. Then select Send invite.
  4. Select Done.

Once done, your accountant will receive the invite. After they accept it, they can access your accounts through QuickBooks Online Accountant.

If you no longer want your accountant to have access anymore, you can remove them. For your references, you can check out the instructions under the Remove an accountant section.

Thank you for your answer.

I just got back from my boss.

What he is asking is if there are QB function that lets QB file Quarterly Tax Filings for business income (not the payroll tax) on behalf of the company. Sorry, I am not familiar with US tax filings.

Thank you.

Questions on Quarterly Tax Filings

Thank you for keeping in touch with us, @usermramirez.

At this time, QuickBooks only files payroll taxes. Meanwhile, you can use the data in QuickBooks Online to serve as your reference when filing their C Corp business taxes outside the program. I'd suggest consulting your accountant or tax adviser for further guidance.

If you don't have one, not to worry! I can help run a search to find an accountant. You can visit our ProAdvisor website to find an accountant or bookkeeper. They are a US-based team of certified tax professionals who can keep your books precise and up to date each month.

Here's how:

  1. Visit the ProAdvisor site.
  2. Enter your city or ZIP code in the Location field. It will display a list of accountants or bookkeepers near you.
  3. You can also filter the service provided, industry served, and product supported to narrow down the results.

You can check out this article for the list of forms Intuit submits for you: What forms does Intuit file?.
