QuickBooks 2021 Rejecting Federal Tax Payments

Myself as well as another bookkeeper are having issues with the new 2021 rejecting our Fed payroll taxes. I unchecked and re-entered the pin and password and still rejects it. Both have tried many times. Now I have to pay on EFTPS since I cannot do it through QuickBooks. Now I am hesitant to move the rest of my clients to 2021 for payroll.

QuickBooks 2021 Rejecting Federal Tax Payments

Hello, linamarie78.

You'll want to review your login credentials (pin and password) for your Federal taxes to make sure everything is accurate.

Then, try updating your  EFTPS Internet password. Before doing so, make sure to complete the following:

Once done, you can proceed to update the EFTPS Internet password. For instructions, check out this article: Update your EFTPS Internet password.

I'm adding this article for more details on how to Handle an e-payment that has been rejected by the agency.

Once everything is verified, you can now try to re-submit the e-payment. It is important that you check the status again after the submission.

In case you have a missing e-payment, here's an article you can read to learn how to recreate it: Recreate a missing e-payment in QuickBooks Desktop.

Aside from tax payments, you might also want to check this article for the steps on how to file tax forms in QuickBooks Desktop: E-file 940, 941, and 944 tax forms.

Know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns. Wishing you and your business continued success.
