I have tried generating my 1099 forms multiple times, on multiple browsers, even once on a VPN just to double check. Every time I get to the last step and I get an error saying there was a problem, try again later. How do I fix this?
Hey there, @Mopberry.
I'd be glad to share with you some troubleshooting steps to help address the 1099 issue.
There are times when too much cache accumulated in a browser can cause unexpected behavior with the product. This can be the reason why you keep getting the error even after double-checking everything.
To start with, let's open your account in a private window to see if the issue is related to a cache build-up. Simply press the following shortcut keys to access this mode:
If you're able to generate the 1099 form, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache to refresh the program. We advise our users to delete them now and then to prevent and fix issues like this. Moreover, you can use a different browser to narrow down the issue.
Here are some articles that offer additional information about preparing 1099 forms within the program:

I have printed all my 1099's but I missed one so I went back in and made sure I
had the correct account checked that was associated with this vendor, but I can't get it to efile any suggestions.
I understand how important it is to e-file seamlessly, Mclifford.
To successfully e-file, let's double-check the vendor information to ensure it is accurate and complete. If the issue persists, let's open your QuickBooks account in a private window to rule out browser-related issues. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
If you can e-file successfully, return to your regular browser and clear your cache. Occasionally, the accumulated cache and cookies in the system can become outdated or corrupted, leading to unexpected behaviors. You can also switch to other installed supported browsers, which is a good alternative.
On the other hand, can you please provide a screenshot if you've encountered any error when e-filing your 1099? With the additional context, I'll be able to explore potential solutions to address your concerns.
Meanwhile, you can read the year-end checklist to wrap up this year's payroll. It includes essential tasks that need to be completed before the end of the year, such as processing employee bonuses, preparing W-2 and 1099 forms, and verifying year-to-date totals for each employee.
I'd be more than happy to assist you if you require further support regarding e-filing 1099. Please let me know if there's anything I can help you with.
Hello, I had the same 1099 filing issue but then I was charged for the filings and got a screen message saying "Way to go! We'll handle those 1099s from here. But then when I go to Taxes -> 1099 filings there are no 1099 filings showing up. It has been a week now. I have also tried to clear cache and open QB in private browser and use a different browser. Can anyone help ?

I'm having the same issue, can't get to e-file the 1099's, I've cleared the cache as suggested, used different browsers, but no luck.
See my screenshot. I've been given a reference #15111176892, Intuit is working on the problem, but have received no resolution, and the deadline to file is in just a couple of days. The message I received from Intuit is:
"We're continuing to work on solving for this unexpected behavior and our next update is currently scheduled for Tue Feb 13 19:00:00 GMT 2024".
We can't wait until Feb 13th. I called again this morning, after multiple phone calls in recent days, but no one will answer my call or call me back.

I have reached out to customer service several times now and there is no resolution to this issue. With the 1099s due date approaching in 6 days, I am still getting the same message.
My issue is I already filed and now if I file outside of QB it will essentially be duplicated.
If you have filed my suggestion would be to file outside of QB.
My request to QB is get this resolved asap.
I have contacted customer support this morning by phone, left a request to return my call, but no one responded.

1. I have not yet received confirmation that my 1099s have been filed and accepted by the IRS.
2. My contractors have not received their 1099s. I paid to have them receive an electronic and paper copy.
3. I do not see 1099s under the Taxes -> 1099 filings tab.
Again, I created the 1099s in QB on January 11th.
Can someone help here ?
I have the same problem, have tried different browsers, have talked/consulted multiple people in payroll, no resolution. This is so frustrating.
I am just worried if Intuit comes back and tell me the 1099 were never filed. Their customer service cannot verify anything.
We appreciate you for joining here in the thread, @TZ. Let me give insights about your 1099 filings inside QuickBooks Online (QBO).
In QBO, you can check the 1099 status under the Filing status to see if the IRS accepted it. The 1099 status might be one of the following:
It's essential to note that if you submit the 1099 form before January 28th, the contractors will receive their 1099s on January 31st. In the 1099 Filings tab, click the View Summary to see the filed 1099. If you notice that the Total number of forms is showing as 0, I recommend contacting our support team for assistance. They have the necessary expertise and tools to investigate this issue further and provide you with a resolution.

I have revised and submitted multiple times, have contacted support multiple times, I've reviewed company info multiple times (no errors), but I never receive and status for anything.
Thanks for this information KayePe. On the 1099 efiling tab, it currently says "there are no 1099 efilings to show". However I generated the 1099s on January 11th.
Currently on call with customer service. They are not even able to confirm if Intuit has received the 1099s.
I have an invoice from Intuit that shows a charge for 1099s filings.
Rita- When you say you submitted multiple times, does Intuit charge you each time you re-submit ?
No, I haven't seen a charge yet from Intuit. When I go through the process to e-file, I clear the cache, and receive the message "Way to go: We'll handle those 1099s from here." No status is ever received in the Taxes tab. When I go back to review, it shows the 1099s are still waiting to be processed, so I go through the e-filing again. I receive the same message, but no confirmation that they've gone through. I've had multiple people from Intuit payroll review, Samantha, Tahisha, and they weren't able to resolve the problem either.
You may want to check your billing. I was charged by Intuit for efiling. I did not re-submit in case it would create a duplicate filings.
I was on call with Intuit for 2 hours this morning. I asked the customer service to send me a confirmation that 1099s will be filed so I have that as a proof. Here is what I have received "This is to confirm that we already filed the 1099 forms on your behalf and you can check it in QuickBooks that they are already filed after January 31st. I know that it is really important for you to get notified that we already filed the 1099, rest assured that you don't have to worry about anything as we already filed them to the IRS."
KayePe - I do not see any filing status. Should I re-submit ?
Thanks for the prompt reply, @TZ. Let me route you to the support team that checks your 1099 form.
As you've already been charged for the 1099 filing, there's no need to resubmit the form to avoid duplicates. Nevertheless, I suggest reaching out to our Payroll Support Team. They can verify the filing status of your payroll forms and guide you if resubmission is necessary.
To reach them, follow the steps below:

JoesemM I have contacted Intuit several times now. I have chatted and been on the phone for hours. I am going to wait till tomorrow Jan 31st 2024 and see if my contractors actually receive their 1099, as promised.
I see another user with the same issue had their issue resolved.
