My sales tax menu is empty

I've had the same issue for almost a month and a half know. I've been on the phone with Quickbooks Online Support multiple times, where they tell you the usual "our engineers are working on it" lies. My sales tax menu is simply empty after being forced to switch to the new sales tax menu, and I cannot record payments I've made to my tax agency.

My sales tax menu is empty

Thanks for dropping by the Community, @manducho.

To check if the browser is already full of frequently accessed page resources (cache and cookies), try signing into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) using a private browser (incognito).

Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox).
  • Control Option (Safari).

Once logged in, go back to the Sales menu to double-check.

If it shows, return to your default browser and perform a clear cache to refresh the system. However, if the issue persists, try using other supported browsers.

For more information about recording tax payments in QBO, I highly suggest checking out this article for future reference: File your sales tax return and record tax payment.

Please let me know if you have any other issues or concerns, and I'll get back to you as quickly as possible. I'm always here to help. Have a good one!

This didn't work. I tried both one of the supported browsers (Chrome) and using incognito mode, none of which worked.

It just looks like this:

There, they can securely check your account and investigate further on why the Sales tax menu in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account is empty. To reach out to them, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the (?) Help menu.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Enter a brief discussion of your concern and select Let’s talk.
  4. Choose either Message an agent (if you preferred chat) or Get a callback.

I've tried contacting support multiple times with no success - they keep saying that "the engineers are working on it". It's been a month already where I haven't been able to record sales tax payments...

Hi Manducho - did they ever fix this? My QB account just started doing the same thing, so if you have a fix, please let me know. I've been on the phone with support and got the "we're fixing this and we'll get back to you" feedback.

Was this issue ever resolved? I have been having the same issue (see original post screenshot) for a month and a half with no resolution. We have two open tickets with no resolution. I’ve tried Safari, Firefox, and Chrome on 3 different computers. I cleared browsing history and that doesn’t work. I need access to our taxes!

Hi there, akobrig.

Welcome back to the thread. I appreciate you for performing troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. This isn't the kind of impression that I'd like you to have, and we know how much time it can take when something isn’t working with taxes. This is why we make great efforts to deliver customer satisfaction at all times and to fix a problem as soon as possible. With this, I'll ensure you'll be routed again to the right support team to make sure that your concern will be address.

Since the issue persists, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team again. They have the tools to check this problem and investigate the cause of it.

On the other hand, if this tax menu issue has already raised to our product engineer, we aren't able to give a specific timeframe when this will be resolved. Once you've communicated with our QuickBooks Support Team to add you to the list of affected users, rest assured you'll receive updates through email. You can also send or reply to them using the existing email to check for the status of this matter.
