Reemployment Tax Refund (formerly Unemployment)

For my business, I pay Florida Reemployment Taxes (formerly Unemployment Taxes) of $20.13. Not sure why, maybe because of Covid, but they issued my business a check refund of $13.20. When I deposit the check into my back account, how do I record that transaction in Quickbooks 2019 for Mac to account for it being a refund for Florida Reemployment Taxes already paid?

It's nice to have you here, shanebofl.

Let's record the check from your bank account as a deposit. When recording this, make sure to use the expense account used for the Florida Reemployment Taxes.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Record Deposit from the menu.
  2. The Payments to Deposit window appears. Enter the necessary information.
  3. Click OK.

Reemployment Tax Refund (formerly Unemployment)

I need to know how to accomplish this in Quickbooks Online.. I have received several refund checks because I had the wrong tax rate entered. I need to know how to apply to the refund checks I received and what chart of accounts to apply them to.

Ok so what do you men "Enter the necessary information." ?

How would we classify the refund check in the chart of accounts?

I have QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium so a lot of the manual options to enter information are not available. I just need to know how Im supposed to enter these checks so that my numbers balance correctly.
