Sales Tax Center

Does anyone know how or if I can turn off the attached pop up message that comes up every time I access the Taxes menu in QB Online?

Thanks,

I appreciate the screenshot that you gave, @susan-wolz.

I'd like to provide some clarifications regarding the page for the new improved sales tax option that's showing up from the Taxes section.

The page that you've got will only show up if you're still using the manual tracking of sales tax in QuickBooks Online. The page provides information on how you can switch to the automated sales tax option that we offer. You can hit on Do it Later to continue with using the old sales tax set up.

Know that the message is a reminders to help you optimize your sales tax experience while working with your taxes. It will disappear if you set up for the automated sales tax. The page is always there to guide you whenever you're ready for the new sales tax set up.

To guide you more information on how the improved sales tax center works, please see this reference: Learn how to set up and use the automated sales tax feature in QuickBooks Online.

I got you covered if there's anything else that you need. I'd be pleased to assist you. Take care!

Thanks for the clarification Betty. I was just hoping QuickBooks would allow me the option of deciding when I wanted to switch & not have it pop up every time.

Sales Tax Center

Hello. I have updated my sales tax with that pop up.  However, I would like to use the old system.  Is there a way I can go back to the old Sales Tax Center?  I do not like the New and Improved sales tax center.  There is no option anymore to record payment.

Is there a way to turn off the new and improved sales tax center to the old sales tax center?  I do not like the new center - it does not have the option to record sales tax payment.

Let me help you find a way to get you back to the old sales tax center, @wimperial.

Reverting to the old Sales Tax Center is now possible in QuickBooks Online (QBO). If you’ve recently migrated from manual to automated sales tax, please follow these steps:

1. Go to the Taxes menu and tap Sales Tax.

2. Click on the Sales tax settings link at the top right section of the Dashboard.

3. At the bottom, you'll see "Want to temporarily switch to the old tax center? Switch here." Click the Switch here link.

4. Press Switch.

Sales Tax Center

Hello.  thank you for your quick reply.  When I clink on the SALES TAX SETTING, I do not have that option "Want to temporarily switch to the old tax center? Switch here."  Attached is the screenshot of my Sales Tax Setting.  There's nothing below the list of the custom rate, on the bottom of the screen.

I understand the hassle that this caused you, wimperial. Let me help to get this sorted out so you could get back to business.

I can see that my colleagues already shared information about the new sales tax feature. If your account is new, you'll be automatically set up to Automatic Sales Tax. If you still couldn't find the option to switch here. I recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Team. This way, they can verify your account and add you to the list of affected users. Then, you'll receive email updates about the progress of this investigation.

Here's how to contact them:

  1. Go to the (?) Help icon, then Contact Us.
  2. Type in your question or concern in the Description Box then hit Let's Talk.
  3. Choose how you want to get contacted.

I'll also include the link for the availability of the support: Support hours and types.

I've also added these articles when setting up sales tax: Set up and use automated sales tax in QuickBooks Online.

I want to make sure this is taken care of for you. If you have additional questions or concerns while working in QBO, leave a comment below. I’m here ready to help you.
