Sales Tax keeps saying it is overdue for previous months and lists a random amount. However when you click on "view return" it says $0.00 due.

It says this on 4 of the months this year. It even has a red exclamation beside it. I have no way of figuring out how to get it to go away. It makes my bookkeeper think we owe sales tax constantly.

Hey there, @accounts374!

We can utilize the Sales Tax Liability report to review the summary of the sales tax you've collected and owed to your tax agencies. We'll have to ensure that you've recorded payments for each state.

Here's how:

  1. Select the left Reports menu.
  2. In the Find report by name field, type in "Sales Tax Liability," then press Enter.
  3. Modify the reporting period.
  4. Click Run report.
  5. Make sure that you've recorded payment for each state.

I ran the liability report and I am not sure how this will help me. I paid and recorded the sales tax in the old tax center but after the update last month, it is showing all those previous months as unpaid! I tried to re-record one and it offset my bank balance. Has quickbooks online come up with a solution for this yet?

Hello there, Lauriec1968.

Paid sales tax in the old Sales Tax Center should not show as overdue in the new interface. Make sure the Report period of your sales tax liability report. Also, check the correct date range of the overdue sales tax in the new Sales Tax Center to see the exact amounts.
