I am preparing to file my quarterly excise taxes and notice that one of my sales is not listed on the Sales Tax Liability report for that quarter.  I am wondering how to trouble shoot this problem.

Welcome to the Community, @hort.

Let's Verify and Rebuild your data in QuickBooks Desktop as the first step in troubleshooting to bring in missing information on the Sales Tax Liability Report. I've provided the steps below on how to do this with ease:

Verify the Data:

  1. Click on Window on the top menu, then Close All.
  2. Go to File > Utilities Verify Data.

Now we can move on to the next step in this process. Before doing so, if you have Assisted Payroll, you'll need to reach out to our Payroll Support for further assistance.

Rebuild the Data:

  1. Go to File > Utilities > Rebuild Data.
  2. You'll see a warning message to backup your company file, press OK.
  3. The Rebuild Data utility starts as soon as the backup is finished.
  4. Click OK when you get the message "Rebuild has completed".

You're almost there! The final step is to check the remaining data. All you have to do is go to File Utilities > Verify Data.

If no error messages appear, review your report once again. If the information is still missing or any error messages appear, please let me know by leaving me a Reply

I'll keep an eye out for your response. Have a beautiful day!
