Sales tax posting account when collected

I have been working on Sage for 23 years and I have always used the Sales Tax Payable as the account my sales taxes post to after a sale. But for some reason, it is going into a Receivable account......what am I doing wrong?????

Sales tax posting account when collected

Hi mimidawnn,

I'll shed light on the posting accounts for sales taxes.

It's actually the same in QBO, the posting account for sales taxes is a Sales Tax Payable type. Normally, it's named after the sales tax agency. However, it can be renamed, so I'm thinking that yours could have just been renamed into something like a receivable account.

Please check the Detail Type of your account to see if it's still Sales Tax Payable. If yes, you can rename it to Sales Tax Payable. If not, please contact our Support team to check this further using more tools.

I'm just right here if you have additional questions.
