Sales Tax

I am looking for a way to add sales tax to invoices when I can't set it up automatically using the tax module in QB. I spoke with QB Support and they told me that the error message "Another tax agency is already using this name. Please use a different name." was a issue with QB online and they weren't able to fix the error so now I am looking for a work around and am hoping that someone else who had a similar issue with not being able to set up the sales tax automatically has found a way to add it to invoices so that it can still be tracked and included in the billing.  I have an idea of how I can do this but I am not sure if it will really work. Any suggestions from someone who had this same issue and how they solved it or worked around it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Sales Tax

I understand the importance of tracking sales taxes to your invoices, @RossR292. With this, I'm here to share with you the two alternative methods to complete this task.

I appreciate you for contacting our support team. Rest assured that you'll receive email updates about the investigation's status and its fix.

First, you can paste this link into the URL bar: https://qbo.intuit.com/app/tax/edit-settings. This way, you can access and edit sales tax settings. View the screenshot below for your visual reference.

Second, I recommend clearing the cache of your regular browser. This removes stored cache on the browser so you'll be able to work with a clean slate. Then, apply the sales tax rates to your invoices.

Moreover, you can run the Sales Tax Liability report. It lets you get a detailed look at the taxes you owe and why you owe them. Also, this ensures everything is accurate before filing your return to the tax agency. Just go to Reports from the left menu. Then, enter the report name in the Search box as seen in the screenshot below. For more details, visit this article: Run The Sales Tax Liability Report

You can post anytime if you need more guidance. Enjoy the rest of your day, @RossR292
