Show tax rate on invoice

My customers want to see what tax rate we are charging them on the invoice. The rate used to appear under subtotal but now only the calculated amount shows and not the rate. How do I add the tax rate back into the invoice?

Show tax rate on invoice

Thanks for visiting in the Community, @Debbie R. I can share a few details about the tax rate in QuickBooks Online.

I can see that option to show invoice tax rate is beneficial for you and your customer. But currently, only the calculated tax amount will appear in the invoice.

Alternatively, you can attach a document to your invoice showing the tax rate applied.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and choose the Invoices tab.
  2. Click the invoice and select the Edit invoice option.
  3. From the bottom left, choose Attachments.
  4. Browse and select the document you want to attach.
  5. Click Open, then choose Save or Save and send.

Will this ever be an option again?

I have a lot of separate custom rates set for different areas, and I need them to be displayed for our Monthly GRT

Good afternoon, @OutlawLady575

Thanks for taking the time to follow along with the thread and sharing your concerns.

I understand the importance of having the option to show the tax rate on invoices again. That said, please know that we put a value on our customers’ voices and take them into consideration when enhancing the product. Let me help and guide you on how to send your ideas straight to our product engineers.

Here’s how:

  1. In your company, tap the Gear icon in the upper left and choose Feedback under Profile.
  2. This action will open a window where you can enter your product suggestions.
  3. Go to the field box and input the information from there.
  4. Click Next to submit.

Please let me know if you have any other concerns. I'm always here to lend a helping hand. Take care!

This is ridiculous!  I too need the sales tax rate to show on the invoices.  I can't believe this is not an option.  It should be very simple, QB get on with it and make this possible, please!!

Hello, kellykmaui. I understand how convenient it would have been to have this feature available in QuickBooks.

Please know that your voice matters. QuickBooks enhancements are the results of suggestions provided by users like you. Thus, I recommend sending another feedback to Product Developers. This way, they'll be able to find ways and use them to develop changes for the product to make your QB experience even better.

 Here's how:

  1. Select the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then select Next to submit feedback.

We appreciate your understanding and patience on this matter. Thank you!
