When I run the report there is a line "Adjustment (5%) with Net Amount and Tax Amount. These amounts do not show up in the Sales Tax Receiver General amounts. What are these amounts? Or why are they showing up?

You're paying sales tax electronically, correct? If so, there may be any adjustments made from the payments that is why you have this in the report. To verify this, click the amount to see more information about the adjustment.
If not, try logging into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser (incognito). There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, causing some unusual responses.
Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox).
Control + Option + P (Safari).
Once signed in, pull up the report again to double-check. If everything looks good, return to your default browser and perform a clear cache. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. However, if the issue persists, try using other supported browsers.
