Buy nowThere was supposedly an ongoing investigation about my issue but I received an email from QBO saying, "We reviewed your case (15155410883), and found that QuickBooks Online is working as designed." That is not correct. I spent several hours on the phone with 3 different experts that could not help me. Here is the issue:
See the attached photo. When I go to my Sales Tax Overview, no information generates. When I select 'Sales Tax Returns', I get an error saying "Something isn't working" and my two active agencies are not appearing in the drop down menu. There is also an error saying "Filing frequency needed for some tax agencies. To view your sales tax info, finish setting up your agencies." When I go to my Sales Tax Settings, there are 320 unrelated tax agencies that have appeared out of nowhere. 33 pages of agencies that I did not add. I made them all "inactive" but am still getting the error that the filing frequency needs to be added for these 320 agencies that I do not use and have never used or added to QuickBooks.
I cannot see what I owe in order to pay my sales tax on time for Mississippi and Tennessee. I paid the amount I calculated for February, but now I cannot even record my sales tax payments in QuickBooks. This needs to be fixed. Apparently, from what two different experts told me on the phone, I am not the only one with this issue.
It’s important that your tax overview reflects only what you actually need so you can record your payments accurately, @dixiedoor4277.
To get this sorted out, I’m sending this over to our Next Level Help team for a deeper look. They will review your previous support history and the details you’ve shared here in the Community to get the full picture. One of our experts will reach out to you within 1-2 business days to discuss the next steps and help you get back to business.
This issue is still unresolved on our end. This has been ongoing for over 3 months now. Our business has not been able to view our Sales Tax Overview/Returns/Categories. We are getting the same errors as before. I have spent over 9 hours on the phone with tech support and it was even escalated and I spoke with the escalation team. We keep receiving emails from QuickBooks saying, "We’re reaching out to you about a recent issue you reported: 2025 Sales tax filings generated for states without supporting transactions/locations. Good news! We reviewed your case (15155731784), and we're happy to say this issue was resolved. No further action is required."
This is not accurate. And when I try to contact customer support, I get the following response, "Thank you for your email. We would love to help you with your question but are unable to find an existing open case for your request. Please send new questions through one of the support sites listed below."
My case number was 15155731784 along with a ton of others experiencing the same issue. They closed this case even though my account was never fixed. This case needs to be reopened. I canNOT call and spend multiple hours on the phone while I am working. Please have someone resolve this issue. Either call me at [removed] or provide me with a direct line to someone that can assist quickly so that I don't have to go through my same complaints for the 20th time with someone that cannot help me.
I am attaching photos of the errors I am receiving as of May 6, 2026. Same errors I was receiving in February of 2026.
Thank you!
