W-2's from previous year is not in my Archive list how can I retrieve them?

The IRS is requesting my W-2's from 2015.... When I look in my archives to reprint them they are not there.  I have 2014 and 2016 but 2015 is gone....how can i retrieve them or re make them ?

Helping you get access to those archived forms is my top priority. As explained in the QuickBooks Online guide to archiving old forms, the available liability periods for archiving previous forms only extends 1-2 years depending on the form. However, as long as you were using QBO Payroll in 2015, the QuickBooks support team may be able to use that information to rebuild the form. Reach out to them by following the steps below:
 

  1. Follow the QuickBooks Payroll support link.
  2. Select QuickBooks Online.
  3. Click Running your business with QuickBooks > Employees > Get Phone Number at the bottom.

W-2's from previous year is not in my Archive list how can I retrieve them?

quick books stores previous years w-2 info in the following folder on your computer:

Public/public documents/intuit/your company name tax form history/W2intrv1 and the year.  Makes no sense of all but that's how I found 2017 and previous years
