Change your business info for your QuickBooks Payments account

Learn how to change, edit, or update your QuickBooks Payments account info. This includes your contact, banking, tax ID, and other business info.

If you're the master admin user, you can update all banking, business, and account information for QuickBooks Payments. Other admin users can update anything other than bank info. Here's what to do.

Tip: Update your payroll info first if you see "error 7000" when updating information.

Update your email, phone, address and more

Update your contact email, phone number, physical address, mailing address, and merchant service number by following the steps:

    1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Payment account.
    2. Select Account, then choose Account Profile.
    3. Go to the Contact information section.
  1. Select Edit, then after making changes, select Submit.

Update business name, industry and tax ID

Update your legal business name, industry type, ownership type, website address, tax ID, and doing business as (DBA) by following the steps:

Note: If you need to change the account SSN, tax ID, or legal business name,  create a new account with the correct information.
  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Payment account.
  2. Select Account, then choose Account Profile.
  3. Go to the Account Holder/Business information section.
  4. Select Edit, then after making changes, select Save.

Update bank deposit info

To update your account nickname, number, type, and routing number, the deposit account must be US-based and transactional. This means Intuit can deposit and withdraw money from it. The DBA (see section above for business name) must match the account name here.

QuickBooks Desktop

Go to Record Merchant Service Deposits, then follow the steps under "Configure deposit and fees account settings."

QuickBooks Online

  5. Select how you want to receive the code (text or voice call).
  6. Select Get Confirmation Code, then enter the code in the pop-up window.
  7. Make all the necessary changes.
  8. Under "Reason for this account change" drop-down menu, choose None of the above. Then, select Submit.
