Learn how to customise your navigation menu in QuickBooks Online.
Manage your regular bookkeeping tasks in a more convenient way through the QuickBooks Online menu. Here’s how you can customise it to manage your workflows and quickly reach your preferred QuickBooks pages, which saves you time.
Overview of the navigation menu
Move around QuickBooks by hovering over options in the navigation menu on the left side. Select the option you want from the pop-up menu, or select the icon itself if no menu appears.
- + Create opens a new transaction, project, task, or goal.
- Bookmarks show a list of pages you’ve saved for easy navigation.
- Dashboard helps you plan, budget, and monitor your finances with a variety of widgets. You can add or remove widgets to tailor the dashboard to your needs.
- Reports collect data about your business’ activities and present them in a single document for you to study and use to help run your business.
- My apps shows the various task hubs and services you can access in QuickBooks Online.
Below these options, you can pin up to three apps for quick access. When you first open QuickBooks Online, these will be Accounting, Expenses, and Sales, but you can change them.
To add or remove pinned apps, select Customise, then select the apps you want to include and select Save.
Browse your apps
The My apps menu puts your different tasks, transactions, and dashboards into specific areas, like Customers, Accounting, and Projects. Select a hub or feature to choose from options related to that topic. You can bookmark individual screens from this menu by hovering over its name and selecting the bookmark icon next to it.
