Connect and manage BigCommerce transactions in QuickBooks Online

Improve bookkeeping accuracy with the BigCommerce Connector by Intuit, which syncs data directly into QuickBooks. Edit, categorise, and match BigCommerce orders, payments, customers, and products.

The app imports order details like net amount, fees, taxes, discounts, products/services, and customers.

View status or orders/items

BigCommerce orders will be automatically added to your books. You can view the status of the transactions and items being imported in the App transactions or Integration transactions page. Follow this link to complete the steps in product Open this link in a new window 

There are several tabs in the App transactions or Integration transactions page:

  • Imported includes all orders and items that were successfully imported from BigCommerce.
  • Processing includes all orders and items that are in progress and not yet imported.
  • Excluded includes all orders and items that have been manually excluded from being imported.

Once an order is created in BigCommerce, it appears in the Imported tab of the App transactions or Integration transactions screen, usually within 4 hours. 

How to connect

You need a BigCommerce account to use the BigCommerce Connector by Intuit. If you haven't already, create an BigCommerce account first. Then you’re ready to get started!

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Follow this link to complete the steps in product. Open this link in a new window
  3. In the search bar, enter “BigCommerce Connector by Intuit”, then select it when you find the app.
  4. Select Get app now or Get integration now.
  5. On Connect to BigCommerce screen, select Continue to connect your accounts.
  6. Select Log in to connect your existing BigCommerce store account.
  7. Enter your Email address and Password, then select Log in.
  8. To authorise BigCommerce to send your orders to QuickBooks Online, select Confirm.
  9. Select the Transaction start date you want BigCommerce to start importing orders. 
    Note: You can import up to 1 year worth of historical orders.
  10. Complete the app settings. You can change these settings later by selecting in the BigCommerce tile on App transactions or Integration transactions page. 
  11. Select Done.

Tips and terminology for your app settings:

  • Retrieve settings specifies which order statuses should be retrieved.
  • Sales settings tell QuickBooks how to create sales.
    • Create Sales in QuickBooks as specifies whether to create an order from BigCommerce as an invoice or a sales receipt.
      Sales receipts won’t get imported into QuickBooks until they are fully paid.
    • Automatic Invoice Numbers lets QuickBooks generate an invoice number for each sale.
    • Shipping charges says which item to use for shipping charges. This setting is only required if the Shipping option isn't enabled in the company settings.
    • Discounts applied define which item to use for discounts. This setting is only required if the Discount option isn't enabled in the company settings.
  • Item settings tell QuickBooks how to create items.
    • Create items as specifies whether to create items as non-inventoried or inventoried items. Select Inventoried Items if you would like to track stock in QuickBooks.
    • Match items by specifies whether to match BigCommerce product SKU by the QuickBooks SKU or Name field. If the imported product matches the QuickBooks item, the app won’t create a new item.
    • Use Income Account specifies which account to use for all items.
  • Tax settings specify which BigCommerce tax rates map to QuickBooks tax rates. This setting is only applicable if you have taxes set up in QuickBooks.
  • Payment settings configure which QuickBooks accounts get used for BigCommerce payments and fees.

  3. Select then select Disconnect.
  4. Complete the short questionnaire and select Disconnect.
