How do I add VAT number to invoice?

Hi there, Lesley.

I'm  here to help you with adding the VAT number to your customers' invoices.

First, you need to enable the VAT number from the Custom Form Styles window. You can follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then click on Custom form styles.
  3. Look for the template you're using, then select Edit under Action.
  4. Go to the Content column, then tap on the first section of the preview page.
  5. Mark the box beside VAT Registration No..
  6. Hit Done to save the changes.

You can also add the tax column to your invoices by ticking the box beside VAT.

After that, make sure to add the VAT number from the VAT window so it'll be added to your invoices.

  1. Click on VAT at the left pane.
  2. Select Edit settings from the Edit VAT dropdown.
  3. Add the VAT number from there.
  4. Click Save.

The VAT and the VAT number will now show up on your transaction.

For more tips about customising your form template in QBO, you can open this article: Customise invoices, quotes, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
