How do I change the currency to rands ?

Good day, info851.

I'm here to help you change your currency into Rand. You should be able to change your Currency on the Advanced Company Settings page.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the upper right corner and choose Account and Settings.
  2. Go to the Advanced tab in the left panel and select Currency.
  3. Choose Rand for the Home Currency.
  4. Hit Save, then Done.

In case you've already turned on the "Multi-currency" feature, you can't change the home currency anymore. If that's the case, you'll need to cancel the subscription or get a new QuickBooks Online account.

You may want to take a look at these write-ups to learn more about multi-currency in QuickBooks Online:

You always get back to me if you have any other home currency concerns. I'd be more than willing to lend you a hand.

How do I change the currency to rands ?

Hi there, Tish3.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. I'll share details on how changing currency works and troubleshooting steps to ensure you're able to see the ZAF Rands currency on the list.

All your transactions must be accounted for in your books. If you have transactions in different currencies, QuickBooks' Multicurrency feature helps you record them easily without worrying about exchange rate conversions.

The ZAF Rands should on the list of Home currency and able to see this for changes.

Please note that you can only edit your currency when you have not yet activated the Multicurrency feature in QuickBooks Online. That's the reason ZAF Rands is not appearing on the menu. In case you have already turned on the Multicurrency feature, you can only change the home currency by deleting all your data and starting over from scratch.

However, if you didn't turn on the Multicurrency feature and you're unable to see the currency ZAF Rands, I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks account using a private browser. This is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue, and private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.

Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using.

  • For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If it works in incognito, I recommend clearing the cache of your regular browser. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. You can check this article to see the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as alternatives.

Please refer to this article to view various information and links on how Multicurrency or currency adjustment operates: About Multicurrency.

Please keep me posted on how things turn out. I'll make sure you're all set. Have a lovely day!

Hello there, @Tish3.

Glad you've reached out to us here in the Community. It's my pleasure to help you today.

The error 404 means that the web page you're trying to reach could not be found on the server. Let's run some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate the problem. We can start with checking if your computer is connected to the internet, and accessing QuickBooks Online in a private browser. This usually resolves any browser-related issues. Here's how to open a private browser:

  •     Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  •     Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  •     Internet Explorer: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  •     Safari: press Command + Shift + N

During you might see the error “Something’s not quite right.” This happens if there's an issue with the browser you're using. To fix this, you'll need to:

Once logged in, please click on the Gear icon and choose Account and Settings. In the Payments section, click on Learn More. You'll be routed to the sign-up page for our QuickBooks Payments

How do I change the currency to rands ?

@Tish3

If you didn't enable the multicurrency feature and your company is located in South Africa, you are using QBO South Africa version and ZAR is your home currency by default. Make sure you are not using another region version of QBO.
