My systems all consist of the same components, sometimes the quantity differs, or the size varies

QBO doesn't provide any assembly feature. You need to have a 3rd party app to integrate with QBO.

Hi -stormsolar-co,

 

Fiat Lux - ASIA is right, and we would also recommend looking for an app that can create assembly items in QBO. Just click the Apps menu on the left navigation bar of your QuickBooks to find one.

 

QBO has another feature called Bundle that you might want to consider. Basically, you're just grouping the items that you want to sell to form a single item called Bundle, which can be renamed into a product item. The only challenge here is it requires extensive tracking of the inventory quantity because the quantity of the parts (materials) will not reduce until the bundle is sold. Whereas in the Assembly tracking, you'll see a reduction in the quantity of the parts when you assemble the item, even if it's not sold yet.
