Hi. Is there a problem with Quickbooks connectivity to Standard Bank?

Thanks for bringing this one to our attention, erich-openmindsc.

If you encounter a banking error 101 for Standard bank, then we have an ongoing issue about this one.  A ticket was already created and forwarded to our engineers. Rest assured, they're now working to fix this as soon as possible.  In the meantime, just manually import your bank transactions using.CSV a file. You can download transactions from your bank's website and upload them to QucikBooks Online (QBO). Just follow the steps and details in the Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online article.  Once your transactions are in, it's time to match and categorise them.

Once done, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Support Team so they can add your details to our notification list. This will also help our engineers to determine the number of affected users. An email notification will be sent to you once this has been resolved. I'll also inform you here when we get the update as well. Here's how to reach them:

  1. In QBO, click the Help (question mark) icon at the top right.
  2. In QB Assistant, enter the topic you need help with. You can also enter questions.
  3. Select Contact Us to connect with a live support agent.
  4. Choose a way to connect with us.

If not, there are some possible reasons why it happens. Among these are:

  • Update on your bank’s website. If you can't find your FI, you can request support for your bank and request it be added.
  • Updates in your Online Banking Login credentials.
  • Bank outage and other scheduled maintenance.

If not, we can try connecting your bank through a private browser to avoid internet files that might be causing unexpected behavior within the system. You can use these keyboard shortcuts to open one:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

Then, follow these steps in connecting your bank:

  1. Go to the Transactions or Banking menu and select Banking.
  2. At the upper-right, click Link account.
  3. I'd suggest using the bank's URL when trying to search for it.
  4. Click the bank and then follow the onscreen instructions.

For more details, check out how to link bank accounts in QuickBooks Online link. If you're able to link your account without any prompts or errors, you can switch back to the main browser and clear the cache. You'll want to also alternatively use other supported browsers to link your account and manage your bank feeds.

Feel free to visit our Banking page for more insights about managing your bank feeds and reconciling accounts.

I'm just one post away if you need a hand with reconciling your accounts or any QucikBooks related. I'll be here to ensure your success. You have a good one.
