can one merge inventory items?

Hello there. QuickBooks Online (QBO) software only allows you to merge services and non-inventory items. Let me fill you in with details regarding this topic.

In QBO, inventory items influence inventory or asset accounts and track Quantity on Hand. These are necessitating for precise data management, therefore making merging impossible. If you find duplicate items that are not in use, it is advisable to make them inactive. To do so, follow the steps below:

1. Log into your QBO account.

2. Go to Sales, then choose Products and Services.

3. Look for the product or service that you want to make inactive.

4. From the Action column, click the drop-down menu and select Make inactive.

5. Click Yes.

Your suggestion to merge two inventory items is appreciated. I'll take note of this. Please know that our developers are diligently working and exploring additional functionalities to incorporate into the software, enabling the product to meet your business needs.

Besides services and non-inventory items, you can also merge duplicate accounts, customers, and vendors in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, QBO offers a feature that allows you to categorize your products and services, helping you keep everything organized. You can read through this article for more information: Group products and services into different categories in QuickBooks Online.

This thread is always open if you have additional questions about QBO inventory items or any related topic. Just mention my name in the reply below. I'm here to assist you in any way I can. Keep safe.
