Donor details for South African 18A certificates

The South African Revenue Services now requires certain donor information to appear on the 18A Donation certificates for tax payers to receive a tax deduction on their annual tax returns.

We are having to insert people’s details as part of the address fields so that it can appear on their statements. This is problematic as when we need to export the info, SARS requires the info in their own format.

Ther are so many small NPO’s in SA that need a system to work to offer these details.

It would be great if QB could offer this as you will find a lot of NPO’s moving onto your system.

Some NPO’s are recording info on Monday.com, Excel, Mail Merge documents, Xero.

Anybody else find a solution

Donor details for South African 18A certificates

Hello there, jwbs.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns regarding the requirements for 18A Donation certificates as required by the South African Revenue Services.

I understand the importance of addressing your specific request and am here to assist you in your inquiries.

Currently, the functionality to add donor information to appear on the 18A Donation certificates for taxpayers to receive a tax deduction on their annual tax returns via statements is unavailable. However, you can use the Customer Contact List report in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to extract and include those data to add to the customer statements.

We truly value your interest in this feature and would love to hear more about your specific needs. We encourage you to submit feedback to our development team, as they actively consider customer suggestions when planning future updates and enhancements to QuickBooks. Your input could be instrumental in shaping the tools we offer to better serve users like you.

Here’s how you can submit your feedback effectively:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Under Profile, select feedback.
  3. Enter your Suggestions.
  4. Then Submit.

Additionally, I would recommend consulting with your accountant, as they will have the expertise to advise you on applications that are updated to comply with the specific requirements of your region. They can provide personalized guidance tailored to your unique situation.

Here's an article you can use for additional details: Run a report in QuickBooks Online.
