How do I create a proper Trial Balance report in QBO? It seems like have to create a balance sheet report and a profit and loss report and then manually create a TB.

Pastel and QB desktop allows one to create a Trial Balance which I can then use to create my financial statements. I am struggling as I can see the balances on QBO "trial balance" is incorrect.

Hi there, @Grant16.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the Trial Balance report summarize the debit and credit balances of each account on your chart of accounts during a period of time.

To run the report, here's how:

  1.   In the left menu, click Reports
  2.   On the Search (magnifying glass) box, enter Trial Balance
  3.   You can customize the Report periodRows and Columns, and Accounting Method.
  4.   Click Run Report

If you want to display account numbers on reports, you will need to enable the feature in your company settings. Let me show you how:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. In the left menu, click Advanced.
  4. In the Chart of accounts section, click on the pencil icon to edit.
  5. Mark the Enable account numbers and Show account numbers checkboxes.
  6. Click on Save and then Done.
