Why would bank beginning balance differ from balance sheet bank balance and how can it be fixed?

Hello there, @natasjaj.

 

If you're only using the same currency for all transactions, the bank beginning balance should be matched to the bank balance of the Balance Sheet report.

 

Make sure you've customized it correctly to get the same details. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Reports.
  2. Click the Customize button. Include all the information you want.
  3. Make sure the reporting date is set up correctly.
  4. Click Run report.

 

On the other hand, if you've created transactions with other currencies, the balance between the two would be different. It is because the bank balances are the actual currency of your accounts. While the balance sheet report will show the balance using the home currency exchange rate.
