How would I add an income tax refund. Not a vat or salary refund?

It’s great to see you in the Community, office215.

Recording an income tax refund is a breeze. All you have to do is make a deposit to track it in QBO.

Here’s how:

  1. Tap the New menu or Plus icon in the upper left and select Bank Deposit under Other.
  2. Press the Account drop-down to choose the correct category type you want to use.
  3. Enter the correct date in the appropriate field.
  4. Navigate to the Add funds to this deposit section and enter the refund details in the field boxes.
  5. Click Save and close.dpt.png

For more insights into this process, check out this article: Record and make bank deposits in QuickBooks Online.

As always, I recommend checking with an accountant for the account used to track the refund. This is to keep your books in order.

I'm just a post away if you should have any other questions or concerns about QBO. Have a great rest of the day.
