There is no description of my input vat on detailed vat report for example insurance or bank charges

it only prints expense date and the amounts when i click on one it opens the transaction details under description there is for expamble insurance but it doesnt pull through to the report?

Allow me to share some more information on how QuickBooks Online uses data on reports.


QuickBooks Online uses the Sources and Targets concept. For example, when you open a certain report, the source of the information generated are your transactions.

 

The detail on the report may vary based on the type of reporting selected and the details it gets from the source transactions.

 

In your case, the VAT Detail Report generates Memo/Description from the Memo field of the transactions. Not on the individual line items where you assign the products being paid.

If you want the description to populate on the report, copy the description in the Memo field.
