Of course there is. This isn't QuickBooks Online. The OP has the useful version of QuickBooks -> Desktop.

Yes, and so did Intuit as lest 15 years ago. These preferences and the resulting behavior were included in QuickBooks as far back as Pro/Premier 2011 and Enterprise 11.0, oldest version I have, and probably further back. Because, of course, it's what customers want. Maybe you didn't get the memo?
