Can I merge a duplicate bank register I created in error into the correct register that autoloaded from my bank?

Yes, you can merge the accounts. I'm here to help achieve this task.
Given that the two accounts have the same types, merging them is possible. Before doing so, take note of the account name that you want to keep.
Then, you're good to merge them:
- From the Accounting tab, select Chart of accounts.
- Locate the account that you want to merge.
- Under ACTION, click Edit.
- Enter the same account name that you want to keep.
- On the Merge accounts? prompt, select Yes, merge accounts.
- Click Save.
