If I turn off direct deposit for a contractor, will I still be charged a monthly rate? I will not hire them again until next year.

Turning off direct deposit for a contractor won’t charge you a monthly fee,
info-theresarpro.
In QuickBooks, you are charged a monthly rate for contractors with direct deposit turned on, even if you don’t pay them during that month. So, turning off direct deposit will prevent any charges until you hire them again.
Please follow these steps to proceed:
- Go to Payroll and choose Contractors.
- Find the contractor’s name and use the dropdown menu beside it to switch the direct deposit on or off.
For more details about this process, check out this article: Set up and manage direct deposit for your contractors.
