Hi sahilrajpoot,

It's vital you're able to set up the WSIB and EHT so your books are in order. Don't worry, I'll be happy to walk you through the process so you can get ahead with your work.

QuickBooks is a hassle-free program that's designed to help streamline your business. To set up WSIB and the EHT, follow the steps below:

  1. On the left panel, click Payroll > Employees.
  2. Click the employee's name, and click the pencil icon next to Pay.
  3. Under Does Employee have any deductions?, click the pencil icon or Add new deduction button.
  4. From the deductions or contributions page, select Health Insurance from the Deduction/contribution type drop-down list.
  5. Enter the name of the Workers' compensation liability (WSIB, WCB, etc.) in the Provider box (Note: although it says appears on pay cheque, it will not show on the pay stub given to the employee unless there is an employee deduction setup).
  6. Under Employee deduction, select None from the Amount per period drop-down list.
  7. Under Company-paid contribution, select % of gross pay, and enter the appropriate percentage.
  8. Click OK.

Give this a try and if you have questions, I recommend contacting our support team using this link. Otherwise, feel free to leave a comment below. I'll be on standby.

I know this is slightly older, but I set up WSIB using this. How do I pay it out? It doesn't show up when I click on payroll taxes.

Hi sblisster,

Paying off your payroll liabilities is a key part to running payroll in QuickBooks Online. I'd like to help go over entering and paying for WSIB.

At this time QuickBooks Online only tracks WSIB for Quebec for processing and payments. If you're outside of Quebec I recommend keeping track of it on an excel document or something similar so you always have it on hand.

I recommend submitting feedback to our product development team to let them know you'd like to have WSIB entered for other provinces. It's a simple process that you can do by following the steps in this article.

Have a great day!

This doesn't work in QB Online. The items noted are not in the drop down menus.

Thanks for reaching out to us, @Snowmowss.

If you want to enter an employees payroll information, you can enter the history in QBO instead of using JE's. Doing so will ensure you have the accurate data in your company file and tax forms.

For this, you may use this article about adding an employee's prior payroll information: Add pay history to QuickBooks Online Payroll.

If you already processed payroll and couldn't get the pay history added, you can contact our Support Team to assist you. They can help you with your paycheck history or give you the instructions if you choose to use the option to do journal entries.

Here's how to contact us:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
