QuickBooks Pro 2018 installation stops during Windows configuration

Downloaded and installed Quickbooks Pro 2018, however, Windows gets hung up configuring it. It says configuring and then wants to reboot my computer. After reboot, it starts over configuring.

Thanks for visiting the QuickBooks Community. It’s my priority to get this issue resolved so you can install your QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2018.

Let’s download the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool to resolve the issue. This tool is designed to automatically identify and fix a wide variety of errors that you may receive when installing QuickBooks Desktop.

Here’s how:
1.    Download the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool.
2.    When prompted, save the file to the local Desktop.
3.    Close any open programs, and then run the program by double-clicking on the QBIntall_Tool_v2.exe.
4.    Once the diagnostic has completed, restart your computer to ensure proper update of components.

Thank you for your help. The suggested fixes didn't solve my problem. I ended up reinstalling Windows 10 and that seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks again.

I appreciate you for sharing the details you’ve performed in fixing this issue, @matttbg.

I can imagine this hasn't been easy for you. Allow me to grab this opportunity to share with you some insights on how to get around this issue. You'll need to check if your two computers/machines meet the system requirements. This way, we can ensure your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) software runs smoothly.

Also, ensure your Internet Explorer (IE) is up to date to sync well with your QBDT software. If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Support team. They have the proper tools to securely check your account and investigate the reason why your software doesn’t load on our two machines.

To reach out to them, you can refer to the steps shared by my colleague above. Ensure to check their Support hours so you’ll know when agents are available.

Once everything is all good, feel free to check our QuickBooks Support page for your reference. There, you can browse some articles/topics that you can use for future guidance.
