windows 11 and QB Non-profit 2020 make strange characters in account name and number
Winows 11 just autoinstalled itself on my windows machine. Since then I, as usual, just enter an account number in any accounting function. On Tab an error window pops up - see screen shot attached. There's strange and unallowable characters appearing. Since installing windows 11 account number enteries require several delete and adds of just the number before the correct character between number and name appear.
I saw in another thread QB does not support Windows above release 10. What gives!!! Windows 11 is now being installed on numerous machines. Why is there an appearant delay on QB being compatible.

Thanks but I can't see how to run Win10 compatibility mode on Win11. That option was there on Win10.

I don't dare to install Win 11 at the moment. But as far as I know, the process is the same. Right-click on the EXE file and open Properties.

Hi eshin.
Having your QuickBooks work the way it was intended is our primary goal so you can continue to save time and effort. I'd be happy to help go over this with you.
At this time Windows 11 is not a supported version for QuickBooks and can cause issues when used together. I recommend trying the steps that Fiat Lux recommended regarding running it in Win10 compatibility mode. Otherwise you can look into having an IT professional moving you back to Windows 10.
If you have any questions let us know and we'd be happy to help.

I attempted the idea that Fiat Lux suggested. The drop down list of OS versions for compatibility only goes up to Windows 8. No 10.
I tried selecting Win 10 compatibility in the properties of the .exe file. Didn't solve my problem.

Just to clarify: Fiat Lux's suggestion was to reinstall QB. The only option is to do it in Win8, no Win10 option.
I did it after the install with the .exe file deep in Program Files. As I said before - no luck.
