Bulk import
Hello,
How can I add a Preferred Vendor to a bulk import template/spreadsheet. I recently used the bulk import feature to add several new products but then had to manually go back and select the vendor for each one. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Steven

Thank you for reaching out to us here in the Community, @wineguyatl. I’ll share some information about adding vendor when importing template/spreadsheet to QuickBooks Online.
You’re right, we can only manually select the vendor into the program. This means we’re also unable to add the preferred vendor when importing products and services.
I can see how time-saving it would be if you’re able to do this. This way, you can run your business easier.
I'd suggest sending this preference to our developers. By doing so, they’ll know what we need to improve and what new features you would like us to add in future product enhancement.
Here's how:
- Go to the Gear icon.
- Select Feedback.
- Share your suggestions and then click Next.
You’ll want to consider looking for a 3rd party app from QuickBooks Apps. Just use specific keywords to narrow down the search and check the reviews from other customers. From there, you can compare their features and choose which one best suits your needs.
To know more about importing products and services, please check this: Import products and services.
If you need help managing your expenses and vendors, you can check our articles for guides and details.
Please reach back out to me if you have any additional concern with using the bulk import feature, so I can get you taken care of. Keep safe and have a great weekend.

I cannot imagine running a SKU heavy business without having Preferred Vendor as part of the list. This is such an easy and basic programming functionality. QB you are so far behind on this compared to competitive projects.
Time to add value to your product with a simple program change.
