In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you won't be able to close the books if the quantities of your items are less than zero. Let's adjust the quantity on hand to continue performing the task above.
Here's how:
- Head to the + New in the upper left and select Inventory qty adjustment under Other in your company.
*If you want to adjust multiple items’ quantities, select Batch actions in Products and services. - On the Inventory Quantity Adjustment page, type the date in the Adjustment date in the field box.
- From the Inventory adjustment account drop-down, choose the account you wish to use to track the transaction.
- In the Product field, type the item you're working on and enter either a new quantity or change the information
- In the Memo field, write a short description of the adjustment.
- Click the Save and close button to keep the changes.
Go through the same steps for the rest of the products you're working on. Explore this link for further insights on the process: Adjust inventory quantity on hand in QuickBooks Online.
