Revising Historical Cost Rates in Projects
What is the easiest way to revise (correct) employee historical cost rates for projects in QBO? The only way I have found is one-by-one via the project Time Cost by Employee report; which is very time-consuming if many to change. Thank you.

Nice to see you again, @tah-difinitigrou.
Instead of modifying this one by one on the report, you can correct the hourly cost rates on the Projects page.
Here's how:
- Go to the Projects tab.
- Click the Hourly cost rate tab on the upper-right.
- You can update the cost rate from here by clicking the Pencil Icon.
- Tap Save and Done.
For other helpful information, you can refer to this guide: Track income, costs, and profitability by project.
That's all there is to it. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to let me know. I want to help you succeed. Have a good one.

Hello and thank you. Changing the cost rate per the method you suggest only impacts new time entries entered after the change in rate. I am interested in revising historical rates.

I can see how important for you to be able to revise employee's historical cost rates for projects in QuickBooks Online. Here's how:
- Click the Reports tab.
- In the search field, enter Time Activities by Employee Detail.
- Click on the Activity Date or Customer name.
- From the Time Activity page, modify the Cost rate (/hr).
- Click Save and close.
I would also encourage you to visit our QuickBooks Online blog regularly. From there, you'll be updated with the features and enhancements that our developers are currently working on.
