I've been using Word for my invoicing. I have a nicely designed invoice that in finality save as pdf and email to my customer. I really like how the invoice looks but needless to say the time it takes to create each invoice and then covert it to a pdf that I then email to my customer is one of the main reasons I bought QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2019.
I did a bit of searching and did not find a good article here on invoice design, but maybe I missed it. I would like to include my logo and put a note at the bottom of the invoice "Make all checks payable to Company Name".
I have a monthly service company and do see a "service" template but I'm not sure exactly how I can design it with the logo.

Hello there, @aquaclear.
I'd be happy to walk you through adding a logo and note in your invoice template.
Here's how to add a logo:
- From the Lists menu, select Templates.
- In the Basic Customization window, mark the Use logo checkbox.
- In the dialog box, click Browse to navigate to the directory containing your business’s logo.
- Double-click the file’s name to select it.
Then, add a note at the bottom of the invoice. Let me show you how:
- In the Basic Customization window, click Additional Customization.
- Choose the Footer tab.
- Find the Message option and mark the Screen and Print checkboxes.
- Edit the Message title if desired.
- Click OK.
After that, QuickBooks immediately places the logo in the upper left-hand corner of the invoice template while the note section is under the Description column. You can see how they will look on the form in the PREVIEW pane. If you wish to move or resize them, you can go to the Layout Designer section.
I've attached the following article for additional reference: Use and customize form templates.
This information should help you design your invoice template in QuickBooks. Stay in touch if I can be of further assistance. Wishing you well.
I do have a question about possibly using my Word .docx template? And searching here I found this article...
I have not fully read this over yet, but do you know if I can use my Word Invoice and convert it into the QuickBooks invoice that I mail out to my customer?
What I am finding using the QuickBooks template is it seems I am unable to have the correct sizing of my logo. My logo is rectangular in dimensions. But the when I add it to the QuickBooks template it squishes it up into a square and I see no way to resize it.
You can try to resize and make the logo rectangle with Paint. Then save and upload the logo again. Though, if it’s still displayed as square in QuickBooks template, I’d recommend contacting the support team to investigate this further. Here’s how:
- Click Help at the top.
- Select Contact us.
- Provide a brief explanation about your concern.
- Click Continue.
Using a Word template would be your option as well. The customize invoice template from Word can be used when sending email invoices to your customer. Just make sure to select this style when while creating the transaction (In the create invoice page, click Customize at the bottom and select the style imported from Word).
