Thanks for reaching out to the Community, ubernaut. I can help you troubleshoot your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) account to open your business file successfully.
Since you already followed the pop-up message below and are still getting the same error. I'd suggest verifying and rebuilding your data in QBDT. This tool helps you fix common errors in your company file.
Before you rebuild your company file, you need to use the verify tool first to scan your company file.
Here's how:
- On your QBDT account, select File.
- Then click Utilities.
- Select Verify Data, then select OK to close all windows.
- If there's a pop up message showing Your data has failed the integrity check. You need to rebuild your file. If none, you're good to go.
If you need to rebuild your company file, you can refer to this link for more detailed steps under How to rebuild your company file data.
Additionally, since you've upgraded to QBDT Mac 2024, you can refer to this article to get started with your account: Get started with QBDT for Mac.
Don't hesitate to comment if you still have concerns about your newly upgraded account. I'm here to help in any way I can.

you have not provided any actual steps to resolving the issue just referencing installation instructions from QuickBooksToolHub.exe which seems to be a windows app for repairing data files. i would not be able to use it on mac in any event.

Hello, @Anonymous.
I see that you're having difficulty with opening your business file while using QuickBooks Desktop Mac. Let me lay out a couple of steps to resolve the issue.
To begin with, you can verify and rebuild data in your company file. This fixes errors and other issues you're experiencing in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). To do this, here's how:
- Go to the File menu.
- Select Utilities.
- Click Verify Data. Then, select OK to close all windows.
If there are still problems with your company file, you'll have to rebuild it.
Here's how:
- Go to Files, then select Utilities.
- Choose Rebuild Data, and then click OK.
- Tap OK to make a backup to prevent data loss along the process.
- Click OK to continue the rebuild process.
Moreover, if you still experience errors after trying these steps, I recommend contacting our QBDT support team, for them to investigate the issue.
For more detailed information, check this article: Verify and rebuild data in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
Moreover, here's an article that you can check for updates on QBDT Mac 2024: What's new in QuickBooks Mac Plus 2024.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or need additional assistance with your QuickBooks company files. I’m here to help anytime!
