problems after updating QB for Mac from 2016 to 2019

After updating QB to 2019 when I try to look at years prior to 2018 under Profit and Loss by Class the expense items prior to 2019 are grouped into total retained earnings and you can't see the individual items. I tried opening the 2016 with prior saved fields and that doesn't allow me to see the items either?

Thanks for coming in with us today. Let's get this sorted out.

 

You can run the Profit and Loss report to know what makes up your Retained Earnings and view details for the Net Income amount. Make sure you use the specified date range.

 

Another option to see your Retained Earnings is to open your Chart of Accounts on your List menu and click on Retained Earnings to see all the closing entries.
