Can i reactivate a deleted tax code
As the vat rate increased effective 01 April 2018, with no news from QB, I created a new tax code for 'standard sales & purchases'.
Today, a communique arrives from QB re the updated tax code.
As I now had 2 tax codes referring to 'standard' tax, I cancelled the one I created.
How do I find this tax code and reactivate it as the programming from our Sales shops on Shopify has been set up using the code I created.
Under Taxes - Edit rates - there is no record of my tax code created and therefrom the opportunity to reactive it.
Help please. Thanks

Hey there, elaine.youngleso!
Let's go ahead and set up the Taxes section on your QuickBooks Online account to reactivate the tax code that has been deleted. Let me show you how:
- Click Taxes in the left panel.
- Select the Sales Tax sub-tab.
- Click the Edit button in the upper right-hand corner, the select Edit rates.
- Click the Gear icon, and check the box for Include inactive.
- Once your tax agency code shows up, click the Make active link in the far right.
Quickbooks Online will update the VAT rates automatically if there are updates from the Government.
I have attached screenshots for your reference.
Fill me in if you have any other questions. Have a marvelous day!

Important! You will NOT be able to reactivate a tax rate. If you need it for future use, you’ll have to create a new one.
- Select Taxes from the left menu.
- In the Sales Tax Center, go to the Related Tasks section and select Add/edit tax rates and agencies.
- Select a tax rate name then select Deactivate.
- Select Continue on the dialog box.
there is no way to reactivate a sales tax rate.
