VAT filing
I have filed my first VAT return with QuickBooks online.
I followed the instructions and printed off my report with submission date and receipt number, but when I go back into quickbooks, although it says accepted on submitted returns. I have a red alert message
Update your VAT accounting periods
You have returns that need to match HMRC’s records.
If I click go for it, its wants to prepare the VAt return again, slightly confused, don't want to duplicate my submission

Hi PennyNI,
Welcome to the community!
Can you try turning off the MTD connection in QuickBooks by going to Taxes > Edit VAT > Edit settings > Turn off MTD. Then, refresh the browser (ctrl+F5) and turn the connection back on by clicking 'Lets go' on the taxes page.
Let me know if this resolves the error message!

There is a warning about unsubscribing and unsubscribing with HMRC first,
Is it ok to tick the I'm unsubscribed from MTD box?

Hello,
In that case, could you please select prepare return after bringing up the open periods and resubmit this? (HMRC will recognise that this is the same period if they did already receive it, so don't worry about having to pay again.)
Thanks,
Talia
