Hello mary745,
You can find HMRC within your suppliers and delete the journal. This will allow you to refile. You will also need to delete those repayments.

Thanks for reaching out to us here in the Community. I can help point you in the right direction so you can unfile the VAT return.
You’re on the right track with deleting the tax return. You’ll have to select Edit first and then open the VAT form. From there, click on Delete.
Once done, void the payment to keep your record in order.
