Re: I need to import a budget prepared in excel. I don't want to have to key it in to QBO. Can I ...

Great to have you here, @joyfulpreschool.

QuickBooks Online is designed to meet your business accounting needs. I’d like to share some information on how creating a budget works in QuickBooks Online.

For starters, QuickBooks Online only supports importing of the customers and vendors listchart of accountsbank transactionsproducts and services and custom invoices. Currently, the ability to import a prepared budget whether an it is an excel or .csv file is not yet available. In the meantime, you can manually create a budget in the system.

I can see how importing a prepared budget would be helpful for both you and your business. I’d be glad to forward these suggestions to our Product Engineers for consideration in future updates. QBO is constantly changing and evolving based largely on the suggestions and requests of users, like yourself.
You can also submit any suggestions, feedbacks and requests for product improvements. Here’s how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Feedback from the drop-down.
  3. Type in your Comments, Suggestions or Feedbacks.
  4. Choose Next.
  5. Select a category, and click Send message.

If you’re having difficulty creating budget on your end, I’d suggest reaching out to our Customer Care team. A specialist will be able to further assist you via a secured remote access session.
Feel free to leave a comment below if you have other questions about creating a budget and managing your business related transactions. I’m always here to help.
