Changing employee PAYE Tax Code Mid Year (QB Online)

In QB Online Payroll how do you change an employees PAYE tax code mid-year?

Is it simply a matter of editing the code before running Payroll?

I ask because when you do that it doesn't ask when the new code takes effect.
