Re: Hi, I've been using QB self employed and have upgraded to small business because I'm now VAT ...

I’m happy to see you today, info196.

Thanks for being part of the QuickBooks family. I’ll be your guide today, so you can seamlessly transfer your QuickBooks Self-Employed transactions and invoices to QBO.

The good news is, the Download feature can help import the data. You can get them from the Tax Details Report or directly to the Transactions page.

To pull up the report, just go to Reports on the left panel and select Tax Details Report. From there, click on the drop-down and choose the correct tax year.

Once you're ready, click on the Download button.

From the Transactions page:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account in a web browser.
  2. In the left panel, select Transactions.
  3. Make sure to select the correct Type, Account and Date.
  4. Click on the Download icon located above the Category column.

You can refer to the Switch to another version of QuickBooks from QuickBooks Self-Employed article for more information.

After completing the process, log in to your QBO company and import the transactions via WebConnect. In regard to invoices, you’ll have to manually input them in your QBO account.

For detailed steps on how to input sales transactions in QBO, you can refer to this article and go directly to the Ways to enter past sales and A/R transactions section.

With these steps, the QBSE data should now be imported to QBO.

If you need further assistance with any of these steps, leave me a comment. Please know I’m always around to help.
