I like to go for a long walk. Listen to work podcasts or my recordings from my mentoring group. That way I don't feel guilty. I am still learning. Since I am focusing on my niche, law firms, I am actually listening to podcasts for lawyers to hear their pain points.
Once and awhile, a good old glass of wine does the trick too!
I do my best to exercise every morning (elliptical), even if it means waking up supper early. It has been so helpful for me as it allows me to reduce stress and think about non-work items. Having 3 dogs also helps! I’m constantly trying to improve my work/life balance. It’s important with any career, but especially accounting/bookkeeping as it’s a business that usually revolves around deadlines.
