Welcome, we are glad that you are here!
If you are a new ProAdvisor or a long-time veteran, this Community is for you! We’ve created this space so ProAdvisors can connect with and learn from each other. New ProAdvisors can ask questions and more experienced ProAdvisors can chime in to help out when and where they can. We hope that you find this Getting Started with QBOA Community a resource that you come back to again and again.
First time visiting Getting Started with QBOA? To participate, make sure you're signed in/signed up for QB Community and come on back to join the group!
For the 1st few weeks, we’ll be sharing some tips and tutorials on QBO and QBOA basics just to get the conversation started. Share them with your team, clients, or use them as a review for yourself.

Glad to be here and glad to be able to help others as we all share a common journey of being a ProAdvisor. I have been a ProAdvisor since 2002 and an Advanced ProAdvisor since 2007 (when they started that certification). I guess that makes me a veteran. I am also on the Intuit Advisory Board.
My firm is based in Estero, FL. My firm is QuickBooks Online only. My client base is Law firms, Real Estate and Start ups. I also have customers that are a variety from QBO training, clean up, and bookkeeping support as well as two other companies that I personally own. I have a team that works with me including my daughter, a bookkeeper from Canada and a wonderful team of bookkeepers from a company called Analytix in Boston, Mass. I also have a Virtual Assistant company based in Oregon that helps with some of my admin work.
I look forward to being of assistance here. We all learn and grow together!
Welcome @lynda! I would say you are definitely a veteran and will be happy to learn everything I can from you.
We are so happy you joined us!
Thank you for bringing to life this new section of the QB Community! As a long time follower of the community, I am honored to have the chance to help my fellow bookkeepers and accountants along their journey to become Advanced ProAdvisors.
Over the past couple of years, we have watched as Intuit gathered feedback from its community about the tools we need to be more efficient in our practices and QuickBooks Online for Accountants is the end result of all that research. Thanks to recent improvements such as the "Work" tab, weekly tasks like payroll and account updates have been assigned to specific team members with scheduled due dates that quickly displays where our book of business stands at any time.
As this new group continues to grow, I wish to offer my assistance to anyone that might be able to benefit from it. It is my belief that "Together We All Succeed"!
I have been supporting QuickBooks since version 1.8 of DOS, way back since 1993.
We support both QBO all versions & desktop all versions. We support Windows & Mac versions,
While located in NJ, via remote access we have clients in many states. My degrees are MBA In Finance, BS in Accounting & AA in Computer Science.
I'm adding a very small new Company to my QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2017. When I record customer payments in my initial company, the payment gets posted to my Bank's Check Register. With this new company it is being posted to an account called "Undeposited Funds". I tried to just change the name of this file, but it won't let me choose "Bank" as the type of file. I must not have something set up right. Anybody have an idea on next step?
Thanks so much!
The desktop version of QuickBooks controls a default setting for payments under the Edit menu.
Also, you can use the Community drop-down QuickBooks Q&A to look for desktop specific Questions and Answers.
I hope this helps.
